NEW ANIMAL HYDROTHERAPY CENTRE IN HAMPSHIRE
A new specially equipped dog hydrotherapy centre has opened in Hampshire to aid the rehabilitation of dogs affected by injury or illness.
Buddy’s Hydro based in Brambles Enterprise Centre, Waterlooville, Hampshire is opening on Monday 30th November 2009 to offer hydrotherapy for the rehabilitation and recreational excercise of dogs. The new centre has a Composite pool, Spa and an Aqua Treadmill installed to offer local animals the chance to maintain fitness without the risk of injury.
With equipment provided by Westcoast, the leading manufacturer of animal rehabilitation equipment, the centre will offer treatments from £30 per session, £15 for fun swims.
Douglas Wood owner and trained Hydrotherapist of the hydrotherapy centre explains:
“We are very excited about the new centre, which will offer revolutionary hydrotherapy treatment for dogs recovering from accidents or who suffer from conditions such as Osteoarthritis, Hip dysplasia, Cruciate ligament injuries and other similar related problems”
The equipment on offer provides various benefits to all dogs. For a dog recovering from a severe condition or major surgery and learning to walk again, the water walker is a perfect solution. As the name suggests, this piece of equipment allows the dog to exercise on a treadmill while some or almost all of its weight is supported by water.
The stainless steel animal hot spa is particularly beneficial to elderly dogs with arthritis and ones with muscle injuries, strains and sprains. The floor can be lowered or raised depending on the size of the dog.
The centre also offers a swimming pool for rehabilitation and recreational use. This can be an effective form of exercise as well as being used for rehabilitation purposes.
